Placing Your Tree
- For planting shade trees:
1. The highest priority is West of windows that face West
2. The second priority is East of windows that face East
3. South of a house is the least desirable place to plant a tree because it will block the sun in the winter months.
- Trees may be planted to add beauty to the landscape
- Trees may also be planted to block the wind or for privacy

Caring for your new tree
- Trees should be watered once a week for 2 ½ hours at a low water flow
- Maintain a 2 to 4 inch mulch layer within the planting area of the tree
- Monitor the tree for disease, insects, and broken limbs
